If you weren’t able to join us online for Midday Pause, we hope you’ll take some time to reflect on the theme and Scripture passages we used for October 14.

  • Take a moment to settle in and be comfortable.
  • Say a short prayer acknowledging God’s presence with you and that He will speak to you through His Word.
  • Read each Scripture passage once or twice.
  • Pause after each passage for two minutes.
  • What is Jesus saying to you?
  • After the last passage, say a short prayer thanking God for His Word and for the privilege of having rested in His presence.

Psalm 9: 9-10 (GNT)
The Lord is a refuge for the oppressed,a place of safety in times of trouble. Those who know you, Lord, will trust you; you do not abandon anyone who comes to you.

Lamentations 3:22 – 26 (GNT)
The Lord’s unfailing love and mercy still continue,Fresh as the morning, as sure as the sunrise. The Lord is all I have, and so in him I put my hope. The Lord is good to everyone who trusts in him, So it is best for us to wait in patience—to wait for him to save us—

Psalm 111: 7 – 9 (GNT)
In all he does he is faithful and just; all his commands are dependable. They last for all time; they were given in truth and righteousness. He set his people free and made an eternal covenant with them. Holy and mighty is he!
