Diane McBeth, executive director of Canadian Baptist Women of Ontario and Quebec (CBWOQ), is pleased to welcome Laura Matthews to CBWOQ as the ministry’s new part-time program coordinator, effective immediately.

In this position, Laura will handle administration tasks (she’ll be processing your conference registrations!) while developing new strategies for community building, networking and ministry.

Laura comes to CBWOQ from Weston Park Baptist Church, Toronto, where she serves as the part-time youth director, mentoring and encouraging teens in their faith journey. Laura brings a passion for connecting, developing and loving people of all ages as she seeks to mobilize communities for the kingdom, both locally and globally. She looks forward to creating meaningful experiences for Baptist women, drawing on her experience as a facilitator of creative and spiritual workshops, and hosting and coordinating events.

Laura is motivated by justice and a passion for God’s healing work in the world, with a deep care for causes including human trafficking, violence, equality and environmental relief.

After completing her bachelor’s degree in Dance and Community Arts at York University, Laura co-founded an arts education company, ConfiDance, which promotes creative dance in schools to increase confidence in children. Transferring her skills as an educator, leader and facilitator, she is excited to move into the role as part-time program coordinator, working alongside women serving and loving Jesus. She is married to an incredible husband, loves coffee and nature, and lives in west Toronto.
