If you weren’t able to join us online for this week’s Pause, we hope you’ll take some time to reflect on the theme and Scripture passages we used.

  • Take a moment to settle in and be comfortable.
  • Say a short prayer acknowledging God’s presence with you and that He will speak to you through His Word.
  • Read each Scripture passage once or twice.
  • Pause after each passage for two minutes.
  • What is Jesus saying to you?
  • After the last passage, say a short prayer thanking God for His Word and for the privilege of having rested in His presence.

Psalm 62:1,2 (TNIV)
“Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.”

Isaiah 30:15,18 (TNIV)
“This is what the Sovereign LORD, the Holy One of Israel, says: “In repentance and rest is your salvation, in quietness and trust is your strength, but you would have none of it . . . Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; therefore he will rise up to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for him!”

Matthew 11:28,29 (TNIV)
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.”
